Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
Tension spread across Gangasagar after a BJP leader was shot by unidentified assailants. The injured leader, identified as Trilokesh Dhali of the Bharatiya Janata Party, was reportedly shot in the chest by two bike-borne attackers near the Sridham bus stand under the Gangasagar Coastal police station area. The attackers allegedly fled the scene immediately after opening fire.
According to police sources, the incident occurred around 8 am when the assailants suddenly approached Dhali and fired at him. The bullet struck his chest, leaving him critically injured. Local residents rushed to his aid after finding him lying on the road in a pool of blood and quickly transported him to Sagar Rural Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and police have launched an investigation into the shooting. Officers have begun searching for the suspects involved in the incident while examining possible reasons behind the attack.
However, Dhali’s family has alleged that miscreants linked to the All India Trinamool Congress may be responsible. His son, Trideep, claimed that political tensions in the area have increased recently and suggested that his father may have been targeted because he was likely to receive a BJP ticket in the upcoming Assembly elections. Police said all angles are being examined as the investigation continues.
